Susan Springer

Hey ya’ll!

I’m the eldest of the Intrinsic bunch and a native Texan. I have more than 20 years of experience in the fields of public involvement, community outreach and marketing/advertising. I serve as Intrinsic’s project manager for public involvement efforts on a variety of environmental, transportation and community planning projects. I’m a stickler for high-quality performance and known for doing whatever it takes to make sure my work is top caliber. I embrace challenges, and I’m a quick study in unfamiliar territory.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in English literature and political science from the University of North Texas and a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas - Dallas. I began my career as a business news and general assignments reporter for the Dallas Morning News. I also spent several years in corporate America as an editorial and marketing manager at the headquarters of J.C. Penney, Co., Inc. My last “big city” job was serving as an account manager for The Richards Group, one of the Southwest’s top-ranked advertising agencies. I have taught college journalism classes and trained audiences nationwide how to better work with the public. I’ve won awards from the International Association of Business Communicators, and my work has been published in national newspapers and internationally recognized legal journals.

I was born in Odessa, Texas, but raised in Farmington, New Mexico, until my early teen years. I moved to Arizona in 2000 and back to Texas to be near my family in 2006. In my free time, I especially love hanging out with my husband, David; marveling at my baby daughter, Addie Grace; and spoiling my dogs, Canyon and Early, and my funny cat, Kitty Minitty. I also volunteer as a board member for Arts from the Heart, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing arts and cultural experiences at no charge to area youth, and as a member of the Hays County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
